Written and directed by Chris Morgan
Musical direction by Christopher Fossey

Lighting Designer: Rob Hall

Set design/build and costume design: Ariella Karatolou

Against the backdrop of the Second World War this new musical is set partly in Wales and partly in France featuring the songs of Harry Parr Davies and Marguerite Monnot.

the contrast between the sepia colored- dead French café “Les Etoiles” –an imaginary non place-and the vibrant cozy welsh tearoom. The tree leaves, sign of loss and nostalgia are gradually becoming one  with the rug, as if the welsh tea room is just a happy “island-memory.”The café is more like a sketchy memory, does not exist..there are no tables only chairs as a memory of the lost activity of the place. Further back the furniture of the café become more and more disaggregated as a faded memory.

As a touring production , the set had to be bullt  in a smart packable manner.
