Based on “Brothers Karamazov, Delirium narrates the condition of a problematic family. The play has a fast pace of changing scenes and a rough context. This fact made me illustrate the space as a neutral sterilised space of perspects, where the elements of the first act transform in the second act. So the living room of the family, becomes the club that the father owns! The characters of the play are extreme, almost caricatures. I decided to explore the architecture of the venue and to place as the base of the acting, a catwalk platform where the characters give almost a demonstration of their power on a higher level than the audience. The concept of “containers”-either in the form of a row of doors or booths hanging on the wall- as a container for the suffocating human attitudes, helped me develop a continuous changing set for the needs of the different scenes.
